Elizabeth is originally from Burundi and has lived in Australia for more than 15 years, Prior coming to Australia, she lived in a refugee camp in Tanzania for over than 13 years.  She speaks Kirundi, Swahili and English.

She completed a Bachelor of Nursing and has been working in healthcare system for more than 10 years. She has been a member of the Mater Refugee Health Advisory group (G11) for the past 11 years. She is a highly enthusiastic person with a solid community engagement background. She has been involved with community work by delivering information and advice to new arrivals on how to navigate the health system in Australia. She is very passionate about women’s health and healthy eating.
